TERRACOTTA DOLL, GREEK ART, 2ND CENTURY B.C.
Rare terracotta doll representing a soldier, holding a shield with his left arm, the right one stretched out as if he used to hold a spear of a sword. Articulated legs attached by a rope.
The dolls of Hellenistic and Roman period have a body ending in the shape of a skirt, thus concealing the fixation of the movable legs.
Greek art, Hellenistic period, 2nd century B.C.
