We will identify as such works produced in the Mediterranean from the 2nd century B.C.until the 4th century A.D., the end of the Hellenistic period until the collapse of the Roman Empire. Born in Rome under the influence Etruscan and Greek art, Roman art itself is the result of multiple influences and varies considerably across the empire.
